Uses: Slippery Elm is considered to be quite safe, gentle, and allergen free. Commonly used to relieve sore throat and coughing, inflammatory bowel diseases, urinary tract irritation, and acid reflux. The mucilage created by adding water to the bark is soothing and anti-inflammatory.

Serving: 0.25 tsp/day in 8 oz. boiling water. Steep 3-5 minutes @ 212°.

No concerns identified for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Mucilage such as slippery elm is inappropriately prescribed in congestive bronchial and catarrhal conditions. 
Slippery Elm should ALWAYS be taken with at least 250 ml (8 oz) of liquid.
